National Public Lands Day 2026 will be held Sunday, September 27. This is a change due to weather, rain and winds! This is a statewide event that provides unique opportunities for Minnesota Master Naturalist Volunteers to participate in our largest single-day of service. Locations across the state will have MNats and others out helping to make Minnesota a better place!

Friends and family are welcome to participate, but must be registered to participate. Everyone will sign a photo release upon site registration. All participants will receive a free NPLD MNat t-shirt as a thank you for participating. You can add additional participant names in the comment field.

Registration by September 4th is required to receive a t-shirt. Registration will close on September 18th for participation in the event without a t-shirt.

Participants will Hand harvest seed from native prairie plants. We will provide all needed supplies, but volunteers are welcome to bring their own gloves and small hand clippers if they prefer. Close-toed shoes and long pants are recommended for walking through tall prairie grasses. USFWS will provide gloves, snacks and water. Meet at the USFWS wetlands office in Morris to carpool to location due to limited parking at the site.
